Last 20 Shows Whole Lot of Nonsense - Show 120 - How can I tell if I'm living the change? Is there a scale somewhere? #podcast When I live the change I want to see, I'd like to be able to tell whether or not I'm living it well. Sure, there's *knowing* that I'm living the change that makes me feel good. But sometimes, it would be nice to know exactly how well I'm living it. I recently swung by the website for Rare Disease Day, and did a quick click-donation. But, how do I know where they are in their efforts? Hmmm... let's think about that for about six to eight minutes.

I'm thinking that too often, I don't let my personal practices leak through enough. What I mean is that while I may show people that I'm using my coffee cup, my personal water bottle, my hybrid... I need to make sure that the way I manage, my personal beliefs, the way I'm personally living the change I want to see makes it to the visible side of me.

So, today's sick day was no different. Something stuck out at me today... what was it again? Oh yeah, the reason I made this PodCast tonight. You gotta listen in. Listen | Listen in your iPhone | Download | View full cache | Whole Lot of Nonsense - Show 117 - What do we do with all the types of service we can do? #podcastThere are so many ways we can help. We can drop a text to the Red Cross for a donation to the Haiti relief efforts when we can't hand water to those who need it or dig out the rubble. We can donate to Chipin for reaching out to a PodCaster when we can't show up to his house to deliver a tray of lasagna. But today is also National Service Day. This is the day when we *can* actually walk down the street and offer a helping hand. What do I think about all these opportunities? Why not listen an ... I give my opinion about how animal studies are relevant with regards to humans? Let me know what *you* think.I also have a bit of a Public Service Announcement. I think instead of the heavy discussion about the nature of animal studies about a baboon troop and its impact on the discussion of human interaction... we're going to celebrate the holidays. Specifically, we're going to play Jonathan Coulton's PodSafe Christmas Song... it's my show, I can take it easy when I want :)Happy Solstice, Merry Christmas, and Happy Kwanzaa everybody. Some key linksThe email to send your good (insert name ... Do liberals and environmentalists have to deliberately make it so hard on themselves? Seriously, the biggest carbon footprint of any conference? And it's the conference on global climate change? Seriously?I'd also like to solicit some feedback around a 2004 study about a baboon troop that radically changed its violent behaviour... and maintained that change.
